Port Expansion Closer to Home

Okay, so Dubai may not interest you... yet. (See next blog if you don't know what I'm talking about.) There's a port expansion closer to home which you can expect to see appearing on cruise schedules much more frequently.

Tobago, the "other" island of the Trinidad and Tobago grouping, has just openend their $17 million Scarborough Jetty. This will enable them to accommodate ships up to 3,100 passengers and 320 meters long.

Carnival and RCCL already have scheduled calls for the 2008/2009 season, and I'd expect to see more ships soon.

By the way, for water lovers, Tobago has wonderful snorkeling and diving.
