Young Adults Beware
It's that time of year again - time for spring break. While the classic image is of college students partying to excess, many just want to warm up after a long winter in northern schools. Many look to cruising as an option to get away from the crowds on the beaches; they may have experienced cruising with their parents and know what a great way it is to get away for a few days, not to mention it being a terrific value.
However, the cruise lines have over the years instituted more and more restrictive age policies on the minimum age you must be to book a cabin. They're different from line to line and can be extremely confusing.
Writer Linda Coffman, known as the CruiseDiva, and the author of several Fodors Guides to cruising, has just written an article about a young person who accidentally or through error got caught by this limitation. You can find it on her site at: For Cruise Travel, Age Matters.
If you're thinking about a getaway yourself and you're under 21, or perhaps your children are, this is a good read for you before you book. Of course, feel free to contact me with your questions. I'm used to working with the various restrictions the cruise lines impose, and will work with you to find solutions whenever possible.
