Twitter Me This

Have you jumped on the Twitter bandwagon? While I've had an account for awhile, I've not really done much with it (other than to follow certain other Tweeters in the travel industry). Personally, I'm not all that enthralled with the thought of having people follow my every move.

However, as the medium has exploded over the past 2-3 months, I'm beginning to see a use I'm comfortable with, and that's to alert my followers to full-length articles here, along with quick head's ups about something happening in the industry or an upcoming sale. It will also make it easier to follow the blog, as I'll cross-post the weekly Happy Hours and similar over there so you can easily know exactly when I post them and pop here to get the full details.

As time goes on (and perhaps I get more creative), I'll have some exclusive information only on Twitter. Perhaps some onboard credit offers or other special incentives to follow along. And if I can get my SIM card sorted out in Italy in August, I'll even do "Live From" tweets from the Azamara Quest Best of Italy sailing. I'm going to try traveling without my laptop (gasp) and only with my Blackberry. I wasn't going to do a full "Live From" blog, but I can see doing a tweet or two a day as a solo single traveler in Italy in August doing independent excursions ranging from the Cinque Terre to the Verona Opera in a 1st Century Roman Colliseum!
